TRAINING POLE

ONE TIME MODULES – MARHA

ONE TIME MODULES – MARHA

In the scope of the Integrated Life MARHA Program and more particularly the citizen sciences constituent, we propose trainings dedicated to diving instructors in order to apply a monitoring protocol about coralligenous reefs (CIGESMED for divers). Divers trained become ambassadors to the citizen sciences approach which is displayed on the French Mediterranean side.

OBJECTIVES

Our skills and various fields of action lead us to meet people with varied training needs. In response to the needs of coastal stakeholders, we offer specific tailor-made modules, jointly developed with groups of stakeholders, or various establishments seeking to train their staff on targeted subjects, whether on the theoretical and/or practical side. These modules take the form of either intensive training courses lasting from a day to weeks, or specific sessions spread out over time.  These modules can be planned in our facilities in Marseille or on the field  of application concerned, in the Mediterranean Sea or elsewhere.

MARHA

The Life Marha project, coordinated by the French Biodiversity Office, is interested in emblematic habitats of the Mediterranean (e.g. the coralligenous) and includes an action component which wants to promote citizen sciences at the level of the French Mediterranean Sea side. Our knowledge, acquired through POLARIS, allows us to invest in this European project. The objective here is to deploy a protocol used in POLARIS (CIGESMED for divers) throughout the geographic area affected by the MARHA project. Diving centers are trained in citizen sciences through the observation of the coralligenous. We are creating a network of ambassadors and various educational tools to carry out these training sessions.

Formation includes 2 technical dives and 1 theoretical course.
